people living

richest countries

had widened
to 74

Now, with
the impact
of globalization
and the
movement of
goods, information
and money
across borders,
the income
gap between
rich and
poor widens
even further.
By 1999,
the assets
of the
worlds three
richest billionaires
were greater
than the
combined gross
National product
of the
least developed
countries and
their 600
million people.

are plagued

ever going
to achieve
economic prosperity
they need

on human

people are
voiceless they

actions or

steps needed
to change

from outside
influences. Since
1990 more
than 3.6
million people
have died
as a
result of
civil wars,
and ethnic
violence. More
than 16
times the
number killed
in wars
between countries.
Between 1987
and 1997
more than
85 percent
of the
worlds armed
conflicts were
civil wars
fought within
borders of
individual countries,
fourteen conflicts
took place
in African
countries including
Angola, Burundi,
Liberia, Rwanda,
Sierra Leone,
Samolia and
the Sudan.
Another 14
were recorded
in Asia,
including conflicts
in Cambodia,
Indonesia, Sri
Lanka and
Viet Nam. Indigenous
people are
being displaced
by outsiders,
who to
expropriate and
exploit local
forests, minerals
and water.
Few indigenous people profit from the resources being taken out.
Resource extraction
is seldom
managed sustainable,
leaving indigenous
people to
live in

environments the

behind.
Each year
more than
one million
children are
exploited in

commercial sex
trade. This has

involves people
traveling from

country to
another and
engaging in

Tourists engaging

countries. Bangladesh and
Haiti have been particularly hit hard.
In Haiti
people can’t
go into
work because
of hungry
mobs throwing
rocks through
the windows of
offices. Children
are living
under scraps
of aluminum
and eat
whatever few
bits of
food their
parents can
scrape together
that day.
Those living
in extreme
poverty often
spend more
than 50 %
of their
income on
food. When food
prices rise 83%
in three
years, it
is like
an unstoppable
wave towering
and crashing
over these
people of
earth. This
is not
how our
planet was
intended to
be, their
is abundance
for everyone,
this obscene
division between
rich and
poor has
got to
come to
an end.
The elites’

all the

September 1996 a

Studies show

political leaders
are not
doing enough
to solve the
problems facing
children. 15 million people
live below the poverty level.

children are
born to

try to
make out
that to
resolve poverty

get parents

parents back
to work.

of social
security benefits
for working
age adults
continues to
fall even
further behind
wages. The present welfare
reforms will make poverty for
children worse. 16%
of children
live in
homes that
earn half of
the average
national wage. Half
of all
children living
in poverty
one and
a half
million live
in families
that have
to pay
full council
tax.

estimates that
to lift
children out
of poverty
would cost
a further 3.8 billion

inequalities in

widening and

society, when

5). Worldwide 1.1 billion people continue to live in poverty on less than $1 a day with 30% of these being children. "Capitalism dos'nt work, but neither does communism or any other political system that has so far been attempted because none of them base the structure of society on the simple fact that, "We are all spiritual beings, unique and individual but united in our true essence of spirit concsiousness, this cannot be forced into the political power systems that structure society and have so far been set up for everyone to live under. A report
called Living
with hardship
was published
on Nov 14th last
year by
a child
poverty charity
which took
an in
depth look
at experiences
of families
surviving in low
income households,
exposing details
of their
daily struggles
that wouldn’t
look out
of place
in third
world countries.
The study
showed that
children surveyed
from 70
families across
the country
with an
income of
less than
£11.000. Half
the parents
couldn’t afford
basic toys
or sports
equipment for
their children.
A third
did not
have money
to buy
winter clothes
many were
in debt
and frightened
that they
couldn’t afford
to buy
food.
The report’s author
Dr Carol-Ann
Hooper from
University of
York said children
as young
as five
recognised that
poverty was
a key
source of
stress for
their parents.
They were
sad, angry,
frustrated and
upset by
the impacts
of poverty
on their lives
and hardship
clearly impacted
in a
range of
ways on
all dimensions
of children’s
well-being.
There are
2.8 million
children living
in poverty
in the
UK today.
One in three children. People
cannot afford
to eat
or stay warm
because of
the high
cost of
gas and electricity

top up
metres. Let
alone travel
to work
with the
rising petrol
and diesel
prices. The high

rented property is

many on
low wages

waiting lists

casualties of

rise blocks
of flats
and run
down squalid
dwellings that
people are
supposed to
make their
homes.

poverty” said
“It’s shocking
to think
that in
this country
one of
the richest
in the
world, there
are children
worried their
siblings might
die because
they don’t
have enough
food. We
have five
year olds
so concerned
about money
that if
they receive
any, they
give it
to their
parents.”
This is
a good
reflection of
how sick
and out
of balance
this system
in place
at the
moment, truly
is. How
can society
progress or
claim to
be civilised
when at
the moment
children are
surrounded by
fear and
deprivation. This society is

adults and
the animal
kingdom. Animals

discard the family

pathetic excuses
written on

broken hearts
and sorrowful

devotion to.

amaze me
how animals
are thought
of, as
unimportant . Would
you do

to your
children, if

permitted? In

experience, there
is no
loyalty that
can beat
the devotion
of dogs
it is
priceless. Yet
on this
planet of
depravity, one
stray dog
is put
down every
hour, and
that is
just in
this country.

dogs ,cats and
pet’s are
homeless when
there is
such a
shortage of
homes and
the selfish
attitudes of
landlords and
property owners
renting out
property to
people who
have no
choice but
to rent,
are being
told constantly
“No pets
allowed”, it
really is
a disgrace,
and these
people need
to get
real, one
elderly man
was forced
to advertise
for a
flat for himself
and his
old dog,
simply because
he had
given up
after seeing
the same
old selfish
advertisements hundreds
of times
stating “No
pets and
no DHSS.”
We have a soulless society. Dog’s

20,000 drawings
